We've moved!

I know it's a new blog, but because of the recent Blogger troubles, I have decided to move Ramblings of a Twin Witch to wordpress. Within the next hour or so, I will be moving all of my recent posts there. You can find Ramblings at: http://texaswitchtwin.wordpress.com/

"No More Espresso for You!"

I don't know how many of you are aware of Klout. Klout pretty much determines your influence online, on social media sites. Anyways, I had gotten enough K+ (where someone gives you Klout in a certain category) in Food & Beverage to snag a FREE can of Starbucks Doubleshot Espresso. I don't drink espresso a lot because the caffeine is just too hard for me to handle. So I drank some but ended up giving about 65% of it to Twin. What possessed me to do that, I have no idea.

Twin isn't a big espresso drinker either. In fact, I think that was her first doubleshot of espresso ever. Now, add Starbucks Doubleshot Espresso on top of an empty stomach plus very little sleep. Remember that squirrel in Hookwinked that drank coffee? It was like riding in the car, doing errands with that squirrel. When I would look back at her, her eyes would be wide open and she would just be talkin'. After a few minutes, I replied with "No more espresso for you, sissy.".

The only thing she hated about the espresso? The crash that came later!

Screwing Around in September...

During the cooler months (usually before it's starts getting bitterly cold), Twin and I will spend an hour or two just taking picture of each other. There's usually funny ones in with the soft and sweet ones. Sometimes someone will throw in a serious "children of the night" sort of picture in there. Okay, we do those every time we have a "photo day". Anyways, tonight, we decided to do that before it got warm again. I thought I'd show you some of my favorites!

There are some more, but they require editing. Considering it's almost 9pm, I have no desire to really edit a lot of pictures. On a single "Picture Night", we can easily take up to 100 photos. Ever since I taught Twin some photography, she's usually the one behind the camera, trying her new "skills" out. What can I say- 2 witches are better than one!

Morning Blessing Chant

I usually say this blessing when I wake up because it's a great way to start the day feeling grateful for everything the Goddess has given you. You can change anything you need to. You will need to light a white candle before, though.

Morning Blessing
I call upon You, Sisters Three
You who sit beneath Life's Trees
Bless and watch over me this day.
These things of You, I ask and pray
Mighty Clothes, You who spin
The Thread and yarn of life and whim,
Grant my thread be soft, yet strong
And the essence of my own life's song
Mighty Lachesis, You who weave
And measure the cloth of Life with ease,
Weave my life beautifully.
With color and texture for all to see.
Mighty Atropos, You who slice
Life's fabric and thread with a snip precise,
Grant me now another day
To return to thank You- this I pray
Mighty Ones, oh Sisters Three
You who sit beneath the Tree
For each day I awaken to
Accept the thanks I offer You!

Domestic Witch?

I don't know why, but lately I've been feeling like the house needs a little more... witchery included. I don't know if anyone feels the same way, but I tend to feel more "witchy" in Autumn. I want to go overboard on rituals, decor, and sometimes spells. But this Fall, I feel like I should be including more magick in my day to day activities of domestic-ness.

Usually when I clean or do laundry, I dread it. Our washer connection is in our detached garage. And since our dryer died, we have been hanging clothes on a clothesline. Because the Summer has been brutal, it's hard to get the motivation to go outside and do laundry. The same goes for cleaning. It's hard to think about keeping the household in tiptop shape when the temperature is 100* or more outside, and with 1 working air conditioner, the temperature INSIDE the house can be right about there. But now that Autumn is upon us, I fear that I won't have the same motivation I usually do, considering everything that has been going on this year.

I might just have to come up with a chant or mantra to get myself going. Or maybe think of a reward for doing it afterwards. Or maybe I will just snap my fingers and let the broom clean by itself and the clothes jump in the washer and then hang themselves on the clothesline. Or maybe I really need to figure out what "Witchy Housekeeping" I can do that will get me motivated. Right.

I'm thinking... Halloween!

Ever since I got the chance to review Home Seasons on my other blog, Edge of Insanity, I have been excited for Halloween! It does happen to be my favorite Holiday, and for some reason this year, I can't wait to start decorating and doing crafts!

Speaking of crafts, I found the cutest ideas in FamilyFun! I don't know how I ended up with a subscription, but I am not complaining! Those crafts look so easy that even I can do it- the girl that can't really cut in a straight line. Anyways, I found this cute craft that I so wanna do! It was actually in the October 2012 issue.

Spinning Spirits

Hung from the ceiling, these friendly paper ghosts will swirl, sway, and spook all night long.

1. Draw a ghost shape on a sheet of white poster board, and cut it out.
2. Cut eyes and a mouth from black construction paper and attach them with glue.
3. To hang the ghost, poke a small hole in the top, thread a string through it, and knot it.
Originally published in the October 2012 issue of FamilyFun magazine.

I know it seems kiddie, but I'm not very crafty yet, and I think it would add to the theme I'm thinking about- ghosty! There is also another craft on my Pinterest that you can do with a black trash bag. Usually we don't have a theme but this year, I'm feeling like it should be ghosty and spooky. Not scary- spooky.

In fact, I'll probably be heading to the stores (Spirit Halloween is open!) to get some prices so I know exactly what I need. I just love the Holidays!
